Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well :)
Today I come back to you with a great address to enjoy Korean food ! It's called Hero, and it's located in front of the subway station "Strasbourg Saint Denis", you cannot miss it ;)
Hero is a very small and cosy place, where everything is well organized, and it feels like a special attention has been made to the decoration, to make you feel at home.
The place with its pink blush tones is an instagram paradise haha, and most of all, they play an amazing playlist! If you're like me and enjoy a good old school R&B playlist, you'll love this place !
As the place is quite small, my friend and I decided to arrive at the opening hour (12:00), and we did well because we were the first ones to arrive.
Regarding the menu, I would say it is rather limited, but I don't mind it, because it is always a sign of product freshness to me. The less there is on the menu, the fresher the food is in my opinion.
What most people tend to do when they come at Hero, is to orders several plates and to share them. As I was starving (as usual haha), my friend and I decided to order something for each of us.
So this is what we ate :
- Fried Chicken Bun : 9€ (around £7.87 and $11.25)
This was the dish I prefered during this lunch : It was AMAZING!!
The chicken was perfectly crispy, the bun was soft, and the homemade mayonnaise made the whole thing perfect! I have nothing to say more, I recommend it 100%.
- Fried chicken with garlic sauce
This was also very good, but I'd say the garlic sauce was a bit too empowering over the chicken, which reduced a lot the crispiness of the chicken. It went well with the white rice I ordered with it (2€/£1.75/$2.50), but alone it would have been a bit to garlicy for me.
Next time I will go for the fried chicken plate with no sauce, to enjoy the crispiness of the chicken which I loved in the bun.
Overall
Hero is a very trendy and quality place, which I highly recommend you to try if you like asian food. The place is rather small, so be sure to book a table in advance, or to arrive at the restaurant at the opening times if you want to be sure to have a place to sit.
Prices are reasonable for the neighbourood and the restaurant is located nearby the subway station, in the heart of Paris.
I will go back there for sure!
